How to apply

To apply, please fill in an application form, using one of the links. Please ensure your application is fully completed before submitting.

We are keen to understand your passion for the project or strategy that you are requesting the CiaO Grant for and how it will benefit you or those you are applying on behalf of. Please describe how we can best support you and your project.

The following information should be included on your application, if applicable:

  • Individuals involved
  • Planned project or strategy
  • Details of any organisation involved in your project or strategy, or that will benefit from participation
  • Any existing support you are receiving from another charity or organisation

Please note, we may ask the applicant to raise part of the requested cost from another source or contribute towards the costs of the Grant.

When we have received your application, we will contact you to confirm receipt and start our assessment process. We may also request some further information to support your application. Please check your email inbox and junk folder regularly, as this will be the initial method of contact.

FAQs

  • Unfortunately, it is not possible to apply for several Grants. If you have already been successful in receiving a Grant, you must allow a 12-month period between applications. Applications will then go through the normal process for consideration. There is no guarantee that you will be successful in securing a Grant again. However, if you have never been successful in receiving a Grant you are welcome to apply for another project any time.

  • We aim to assess each application equally and fairly.
  • We will contact you to confirm receipt of your completed application and if necessary, request any further information to support / complete your application. It is vital that you check your email inbox / spam folder regularly as this will be the initial method of contact.
  • We request that you respond promptly to any emails as any delays in receiving replies may result in your application not being reviewed by the trustees at the next trustee meeting (four trustee meetings per annum).
  • If you are requesting assistance or equipment from a CiaO Grant with a high monetary value then we may arrange to meet with the applicant and assess with you the project before further assessment of your application takes place.

  • All decisions on shortlisted applications will be provided in writing, by email or letter. If you are successful in obtaining a Grant, we will confirm what form and how the Grant will be provided. This will also include the terms and conditions of the grant which you are required to sign and return to us prior to any provision.
  • You can review our Terms & Conditions by clicking on this link. Please read carefully to ensure you will be happy to abide by the stipulations of the Grant.
  • Subject to receipt of the signed terms and conditions document, within the specified timeframe, your Grant will be provided by preferred method indicated.
  • The CiaO Foundation usually requires a Grant to be used within 12 months of provision.
  • In exceptional circumstances, please obtain confirmation from the CiaO Foundation that assistance or resources may be held for longer.
  • Any Grant not used will need to be returned to The CiaO Foundation.
  • If for some reason there is a change of circumstances for the use of the provided Grant, you will be required to write to the Trustees providing information on the change of use.
  • The Trustees will then consider this request and you will be notified in writing as to whether or not they agree.
  • If they do not agree for the change of use of the Grant you will be required to fully reimburse The CiaO Foundation.
  • Congratulations on completing your project/strategy! We would love to stay in contact with you, so at the end of your project we will require you to complete an ‘End of Grant Monitoring Report.’ This will tell us how the Grant was used, and what was achieved with it.
  • You will also be asked to provide any photographs, case studies or testimonials as part of this report, which we may use on our website.
  • We may wish to follow up with a visit or contact you to monitor progress or the impact of our assistance on your project.
  • Failure to provide any feedback may impact any future applications you make to The CiaO Foundation.
  • The Trustees may, on occasion, also invite you to CiaO Foundation events.
  • If you prepare any publicity specifically for the project that the CiaO Grant is supporting, we would love to share your story and request that a copy of such information is sent to us.
  • We may publicise any photos, videos or details of your project / strategy that you have provided on our website or social media channels.

We will support you throughout your entire journey, from the application process and well beyond. We are committed to walking alongside you, providing mentorship, guidance and support when needed.

We are very keen to stay connected and follow your journey, wherever your challenges take you! A short time after you have received your Grant (and any related practical elements), we will send you our CiaO Grant Evaluation Form which is an easy way of letting us know how things are going, as well as providing us with important feedback on our Grant scheme.
