As The CiaO Foundation celebrates its 10th anniversary, we are catching up with some of the incredible organisations and individuals who have been part of CiaO’s journey over the past decade. One of those is the brilliant Dysart School, which continues to make a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people with severe and complex learning disabilities.
Over the years CiaO, in collaboration with Fidum Property Management, has been proud to support Dysart School through several projects, including the creation of a dedicated sensory room, specialist outdoor play equipment and, most recently, new swings that provide pupils with a safe and enjoyable space to regulate, play and connect with others. The impact of this support continues to be felt every day across the school.
Kara Walters at Dysart School shared:
“The students at Dysart have continued to enjoy the enrichment resources provided through the generous fundraising of The CiaO Foundation. The swings on the field are still a favourite and are used multiple times throughout the school day by students of every age, creating a safe space to regulate between lessons and enjoy shared experiences with adults and peers.
The outdoor equipment, soft play resources and sensory room ensure that, whatever the weather, our students have the opportunity to engage in meaningful activities and broaden their experiences.”
As CiaO celebrates this important milestone, the school also shared a special message:
“Happy 10th Birthday CiaO! We are so grateful for all that you have done to celebrate our school and our learners. Your support has had a day-to-day impact on our students that will last for many years.”
Partnerships like the one between The CiaO Foundation, Fidum and Dysart School demonstrate how our grants can create opportunities that continue to benefit children and young people long after the funding has been awarded.
