The CiaO Foundation is proud to continue its supportive partnership with Dysart School, a specialist provision supporting pupils with a wide range of severe and complex learning disabilities across the Royal Borough of Kingston and beyond. Dysart is dedicated to promoting equality of opportunity and maximising every young person’s potential by fostering independence, communication, self-esteem and confidence.
Following the opening of the school’s third satellite site, Discovery House, Dysart has expanded its capacity from 150 to 180 planned places, enabling even more young people to benefit from its exceptional environment.
In 2023, CiaO’s fundraising efforts helped provide vital new play equipment for the school. The impact of this initiative resonated with Fidum, a Surrey based Property Management firm, who were inspired by the school’s commitment to supporting young people with complex needs. Impressed by CiaO’s role in helping the school, Fidum reached out with the desire to further assist the Dysart community.
Thanks to Fidum’s generous support in 2024, CiaO was able to provide a grant for a brand new sensory room, an invaluable space that enhances pupils’ learning, wellbeing and emotional regulation. This year, Fidum has again extended its generosity by funding two additional playground swings for the students to enjoy.
The positive impact has been seen immediately. Kara Walters, Outreach Lead at Dysart School, shared:
“I just wanted to message to say how much of a huge success the addition of the new swings has been to the school! The swings have always been the most popular pieces of equipment in the playground, which meant that there was always a queue for them. Having an additional two swings has meant that all students can have time on the swings at break times, which has a direct impact on their regulation ahead of learning. We are all so grateful!”
“The CiaO Foundation is extremely grateful for Fidum’s continued generosity and support. Their funding has helped create happy, supportive and accessible learning experiences for every pupil at Dysart, making a meaningful difference to the young people and their families.”
