The 2022 Inaugral CiaO Golf Day

25 July 2022
CiaO Golf Day

CiaO held its inaugural Golf Day on July 25th at the Army Golf Club. 16 teams of 4 balls assembled in the morning and set off to play 18 holes after the customary bacon rolls and coffee. Both scoring and fundraising were assisted with the benefit of 2 x Mulligans and a throw out of the bunker or the woods! There was a welcome stop at the Half Way House for refueling which was kindly sponsored by Cyril Leonard . All commented on how much they enjoyed playing the course and in particular the excellent quality of the Greens.

As the scores were counted the BBQ was fired up and all then proceeded to eat a delicious selection of BBQ’d food and cold salads provided by the Golf Club. The scoring was very close but the outright winners were Sarah Buxton, Amanda Cooper, Sue Clayton, and Sian Waring. Prizes were also given for the team that came second, Longest Drive and Nearest the Pin.

After the BBQ the Raffle was drawn and the Silent Auction took place. CiaO would like to express their thanks to The Wisley, Royal Wimbledon Golf Club, and the RAC Woodcote Park Country Club who generously donated vouchers for golf and breakfast / lunch which were all competitively bid for. Our thanks also to those that kindly donated stays at holiday homes in Venice and Alderney, tickets and hospitality at Southampton FC, and to Bill Raspin @billraspinart who kindly provided a painting commission.

Lastly, Andrew thanked the Barber Family and Amalgamated Berkshire for funding the cost of the event which meant that every Pound raised, on the day, would go to the Awards.
