Following on from the successful CiaO fundraising lunch held last year to raise funds for play equipment for the young children at Dysart Special Needs School. CiaO was approached by one of the attendees who was so impressed with how Dysart help those children with severe and complex learning difficulties, that they would like to work through CiaO to further help the school.
As a result of this collaboration, Simon Marshall and Nicky Judge of Fidum joined Andy Hogge and Nugmais Powlesland of CiaO to view the newly opened sensory room – the Haven – which provides through sound and light movement, calm, focus and comfort for the children with sensory processing problems. Once engaged it was so rewarding to see the children both enjoying themselves and also improving their physical and cognitive skills.
Through Fidum’s generosity, Ciao were able to provide £15,000 of funding for this excellent project which will help circa 165 pupils at the school. Dysart School commemorated the opening of the new sensory room with a plaque thanking CiaO and founder Geoffrey Barber for making the project possible.
